Welcome to the APNSA Website.

The Andhra Pradesh Neuroscientists Association is the only regional / state unit in India that meets yearly and has a membership of about 700. It is 30 years since its inception and growing. It is a society inclusive of all branches of Neurological Sciences - Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, Neuro radiologists, neuro anaesthesiologists, neuro pathologists, etc. It has a Neuro-Nurses wing too.

While the number of Neuroscientists is growing in the country, opportunities to present and participate in discussion, and make a mark at the national level become limited. With the idea to provide better opportunity specifically to youngsters, better representation, better deliberation, and camaraderie among the regional specialists, the proposal to start a state unit was mooted at the Trivandrum conference of NSI in 1978, renewed at the Chennai meet in 1993.
